I think one just has to hang in, keep offering the goods and they *will* come.

The HC moderation is, I suspect, a result of different moderators possessing different world views - the inconsistency is marked. I had to laugh when my HC post about making it onto the clubtroppo radar with this Fringe post courtesy of the current Missing Link editor, Helen Darville/Demidenko/Dale was deleted for "flaming".

I reckon a Miles Franklin, Vogel award winning author would appreciate the irony of such censorship. :)

ShareScene sometimes has useful info, yet I agree it is very dreary. I find TopStocks visually offensive. I like its share picking comps but don't feel inclined to pay for the privilege considering the virulent green pervading the site, which hurts my eyes. Notwithstanding, at least they do permit political comments. Don't like the fact that I can't post an actual link to my blog in my sig or a pic.

With the WorkChoices #3, Howard is as you say, definitely manouvring - seeking to win back his toe hold amongst workers who would like to emulate the lifestyles of their bosses. Expect to see more carrots soon. Budget on Tuesday!

I can only hope more people find Stockfish :)

I built it with the saying in mind - "if you build it, they will come", but it hasn't quite worked out that way.

It is sufferring from chicken and egg syndrome. People won't post there until there is enough discussion to reply to, and there won't be enough discussion to reply to until people post there. I guess when word gets out that it is fast, and ad free, then we might see some more posters. :)

HotCopper suffers from both under and over moderation. They delete a lot of worthwhile posts on things like politics, but then allow people to troll the hell out of other areas (CDU thread has been a good example). Of course seeing the conversation in-between all the huge ads is a bit of a job in itself.

The other major alternative, ShareScene, seems to be about as exciting as watching grass grow. I've found TopStocks has some good posts at times, but the horrible green colour scheme makes my eyes want to implode.

Regarding Workchoices, it is obvious the Liberals are running scared now. If it is such a good system, why suddenly add in the safe guards? couldn't be anything to do with all those penalty rates and public holidays being snatched away?

Rudd must be rubbing his hands together with glee.
